M. Kenneth Lawrence is a new addition to the staff of Neighborhood Progress Fund (“NPF”) as a Senior Loan Officer. NPF is a community development financial institution that provides access to capital and business advisory services to small businesses and entrepreneurs. Ken supports NPF with 25 years of banking experience in commercial lending, investment real estate lending, consumer lending, loan operations, and portfolio management. Prior to NPF, Ken was a Business Relationship Manager at Sun East Federal Credit Union where he was one of two persons to develop the entire Business Lending department with real estate loans, vehicle loans, equipment loans, merchant services, business advisory, and center of influence development from May 2018 to April 2023. In four plus years, the Business Lending department grew to a portfolio of $50MM.
Ken’s previous roles included a Business Bank at PNC Bank, a Business Portfolio Manager with Capital One Bank, a Loan Operations Manager at American Heritage Federal Credit Union, and a Small Business Banker with Citizens Bank.
Ken is a credit trained banker by both CUNA and the American Institute of Banking, and has a Master of Arts in Telecommunications/Communications from Temple University. Ken also has a Bachelor of Arts from Hampton Institute University, where he majored in Economics. Ken is a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the Optimist Club International, the Kiwanis Club, and a Board Member of the Yeadon Economic Development Company.
